StudyWizardry Global Copyright Policy

Last updated:

At StudyWizardry, we deeply respect the intellectual property rights of creators, educators, and publishers around the world. Our goal is to provide an AI-powered learning experience that is both transformative and legally compliant — promoting education through fair and ethical use of knowledge.

This policy applies to all products, services, and platforms operated by StudyWizardry, including but not limited to the StudyWizardry website (www.studywizardry.com) , mobile apps, APIs, and other digital services (“StudyWizardry Services”).

1. Scope and Purpose

This Copyright Policy is designed to ensure compliance with:

  • The U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) (17 U.S.C. §512)
  • Company refers to StudyWizardry Inc., also referred to as “we”, “us” or “our”.
  • The EU Directive on Copyright in the Digital Single Market (Directive (EU) 2019/790)
  • The UK Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 (CDPA)
  • The Berne Convention for the Protection of Literary and Artistic Works
  • Other applicable national and international copyright laws

StudyWizardry operates globally, and as such, our copyright procedures follow internationally recognized standards to protect both rightsholders and users.

2. User Responsibilities and Content Ownership

StudyWizardry users may upload, create, or share content (“User Content”), including questions, notes, summaries, solutions, or other educational materials. By using StudyWizardry Services, users agree that:

  • They own or have obtained all necessary rights and permissions to upload or share such content;
  • Their content does not infringe upon the copyrights, trademarks, or other intellectual property rights of any third party;
  • They grant StudyWizardry a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, distribute, and process their content for educational and operational purposes.

StudyWizardry reserves the right to remove or disable access to any content alleged to be infringing and to suspend or terminate accounts of repeat infringers.

3. AI-Generated and AI-Assisted Content

StudyWizardry uses artificial intelligence (AI) to generate educational materials — including study notes, explanations, and quizzes — based on user prompts and publicly available or properly licensed data.

While our AI tools are designed to transform rather than replicate original works, StudyWizardry does not claim ownership of copyrighted works referenced or analyzed by the AI.

If any AI-generated content inadvertently reproduces protected material, please contact us for immediate review and removal.

StudyWizardry follows responsible AI principles consistent with OECD AI Guidelines and EU AI Act transparency standards.

4. Educational Fair Use / Fair Dealing Statement

StudyWizardry’s use of content is intended to comply with “fair use” and “fair dealing” principles as recognized in multiple jurisdictions, including:

  • United States (17 U.S.C. §107 — Fair Use)
  • European Union & UK (Directive (EU) 2001/29, CDPA 1988 — Fair Dealing for Education and Research)
  • Canada (Copyright Act R.S.C., 1985, c. C-42 — Fair Dealing for Education)
  • Australia (Copyright Act 1968 — Fair Dealing for Study or Research)

AI-generated explanations, summaries, and paraphrased educational materials are designed for non-commercial learning and comprehension purposes only, and are not substitutes for original copyrighted works.

5. Notification of Copyright Infringement (DMCA / Global Procedure)

If you believe that any content available on StudyWizardry infringes your copyright, you (or your authorized agent) may send us a Copyright Infringement Notice requesting removal or restriction of the material.

Filing false or misleading copyright claims or Counter-Notices may lead to civil or criminal penalties under applicable law (e.g., 17 U.S.C. §512(f), UK CDPA §107). We recommend consulting a qualified legal professional before filing.
